Dreamweaver MX - PHP - MySQL Tutorial

Follow this visual tutorial to set up Dreamweaver MX to connect to your MySQL database using PHP.

This example uses the new Dreamweaver MX (DWMX) workspace layout and not the old Dreamweaver 4 layout.

To change your program workspace layout to look like the new layout, choose from the menus at the top of Dreaweaver: <Edit>, <Preferences>, the "General" tab, and then "Change Workspace..." button.

Warning: This page is big

This page takes a while to load, particularly if you have a dial-up modem. Sorry about that, but I wanted large, clear screenshots of each step and this means large picture files. However, once it is loaded you will have a step-by-step walk-through with big, clear screenshots.

Part I: Set up all the connections

In this first part, you will set up your connections so that DWMX can connect to MySQL. IMPORTANT: You must have already set up your MySQL database and have at least one table set up in it. If you have not done so, set one up now and then come back here to continue.
